Open roles

We hire people who are willing to publish the limits of their own work.

What working here looks like

Most of what we do is research that turns into software, and the two are not separate jobs here.

You will be asked to write down where your method stops working, and then to publish it. Most people find the first part harder than the second.

The work is applied. Questions arrive because something we are building will not hold a constraint, which means the research has a deadline attached and an obvious way of being wrong.

Who tends to fit

  • People who would rather publish a negative result than sit on it until it becomes a positive one.
  • People who can hold a hard product constraint without quietly relaxing it once it gets expensive.
  • People interested in whether a system made someone better at something, not only in whether it worked.
